Electric Folding Bicycles
All 3 bikes have a very simple twist grip throttle and a push button switch that allows you to switch between either pedal, pedal assist power or throttle
control power.
When using the throttle, no power is used until it is needed. This means you can ride the flat roads and down hills as an ordinary bike if you want to and
only use power when the going gets harder on the slopes or hills.
The electric motor is powerful enough to start from standing on throttle alone but we recommend pedaling a bit to help generate the high torque required
to get moving. Customers tell us the range of the Mk2 is nearly 40 miles in throttle mode rather that the 20 miles when on pedal assist.
The 36 Volt models offer a 50% increase on this for those who need a longer range.
Both the MK2’s 200 watt & the MK3’s & 26”’s 250 watt motors (the largest permitted under current EEC regulations) are soft start & have no memory loss
Lithium Batteries with power indicators.
All models also have vee brakes front & rear, are fully weather proofed with sealed electrics (high pressure washing isn't advised), an aluminium frame for
weight reduction with steel suspension front forks, for strength and 6 speed Shimano gear system, with a left hand grip shifter.
The speedy folding/unfolding mechanism makes the bike extremely easy to transport. The quick release battery is fitted with a key lock to prevent
unauthorised removal.
The bike feels light when riding and no different from a standard folding bike.
The Lithium Battery means you do not have to discharge it fully before recharging. Each time you return from your ride you can just top up the charge.
There is an indicator on the battery so you know how much power you have left to use.
Charging time from flat is around 4 hours with approximately 1000 complete recharges, so it can last up to 20,000 miles of cycling!
Out and about, you may charge the battery through a dc-ac inverter which should be 300 watts or larger.
Can electric bikes pull you up a hill on battery power alone ?
We're afraid the answer is no. None of the road legal electric bikes will do this as the power output of the motor is strictly governed by E.E.C. regulations.
Also the electrical power must legally cut out at over 15mph. If you are on pedal assist mode the power must also cut out when you stop pedaling.
The bike must also have the capability to be pedal assisted which is why the electric scooters without pedals are illegal. When these regulations are met no tax, insurance,
MOT or license is required. When you reach the slopes and hills the bike with the power on only requires gentle pedal assistance to climb them. All normal slopes and hills then
feel like you are still riding on the flat. They will not climb Ben Nevis slopes but they will surprise you as to what they will climb.

The Electrobike puts all the fun back into cycling without any downside. Many customers are seniors who see this type of exercise as an ideal way to keep all the
joints mobile or to strengthen arthritic or poorly knees and help cut down the exercise needed when suffering from angina or bad hips. Are they a lazy persons bike? Well
we do not think so. All of our customers want to do some exercise but without having to push themselves too hard or having to give up before they start, these bikes get you
Out and about where you wouldn’t normally go. Having power to use when needed gives you confidence to have a go, because you know if the knee starts to hurt put the
